Take a look around at some of the places we've been and the stories behind the photos.
The Glen Canyon Dam in Page Arizona may not be as well-known as the Hoover Dam, but it is still a remarkable feat of engineering that remains controversial to this day.
This image was captured in May of 2014 and although many can't believe the colors are real, the Painted Desert in Arizona has its name for a reason.
This image was captured in May of 2014 at the Very Large Array in New Mexico. If you try to google it while visiting, you might be surprised to find you can't get any cell service. This is not just due to the remote nature of the facility, but because cellular signals can interfere with the research!
This image was captured in the Summer of 2021. If you plan a visit expecting to be alone, know that this is a well-known tourist attraction called Horseshoe Bend, and you are likely to find yourself among a few influencers.
Unlike the nearby Horseshoe Bend, the surrounding areas of the Colorado River in Page Arizona are often quite lonely. This image was captured in the summer of 2021 and we will let you try and find the exact location should you visit Page.
This image was captured in May of 2014 at the Very Large Array in New Mexico. It consists of twenty-eight, 25-meter radio telescopes mounted to railroad tracks such that they can be moved in order to adjust their focus - kind of like a camera lens!
For those who have been to Glen Arbor Michigan, the Cherry Republic was probably your favorite stop.
The Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore features unmatched views of Lake Michigan. This image was captured in the late summer of 2021.
Leelanau County Michigan has a number of historic barns and outbuildings. This image was captured late in the day on a private farm.
The D. H. Day Farm is a part of the National Park Service and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. A few sandhill cranes were spotted in the field surrounding the historic barn that forms the centerpiece of this 400-acre property on a cloudy, late summer day in 2021.
Some Sandhill Cranes spend their summers in the fields of Northern Michigan where they raise their young before heading South in October. This one was spotted in August of 2022 in the Port Oneida area.
The Miller Barn is just one of the many historical buildings now owned by the National Park Service as part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
